still life of an apple, drawn in the middle of the night under low light
alcohol-based markers, ink pens & paint markers
the original piece is 12 x 9 inches, ink & marker on paper
about the artwork:
based quite directly on a photo i took while eating delicious chicken in my car, sitting in the back lot of the indi’s in lexington, kentucky
after a fresh rain, the lights reflected in a dope way
blam! imagination to the next level with some saturation nation ~ by that i mean: i created my own bright colors to enhance the visual energy
indi’s buildings already have cool weird yellow blue & red stripes, so that’s the real deal
alcohol-based markers, ink pens & gel pens

My recent freelancing has involved creating posters and signage, both print and digital, for The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, as well as other clients. I love the way these turned out. in addition to the poster designs, I also create full signage for each show, including digital marquees, local newspaper ads, online ads, etc.
I created this poster for a local magician. They wanted an upgraded poster to get people to come out to this annual fundraising show. I enjoy how nicely this design came together.
See below for more posters I created for The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.

original piece ** SOLD ** to a close friend :)
The client, Masonic Homes of Kentucky, wanted a whole re-design of their plain newsletter. They wanted it to look more like a magazine. Their wish was my command. I designed and formatted the whole thing. Two issues makes it a nice wholesome series :) Complete with lovely spreads and design consistency throughout! All by me.
The client also wanted a logo designed to commemorate the Masonic Homes' 150th Anniversary. Also my project, created entirely by me.
This logo won an Award of Excellence!!! (for the agency I was working for, at the PRSA Landmarks of Excellence in 2017)
A type specimen, in typography, is a presentation of a typeface to showcase its design and use.
I created this type specimen in my Intro to Typography class as part of my Visual Arts minor at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts. This first piece, below, is a poster. I had a lot of fun creating this one. I love how the huge letters came together, and how all the type aligns nicely around the giant lettering. The second piece is a single page which showcases how the typeface’s letters, numbers and symbols look in paragraph form on a single piece of paper. The third piece is an iPad presentation, giving a little bit of background and information on the typeface as well as showing how it can be used decoratively and strategically.

drawn at the last possible minute, naturally & given to jhene aiko at meet+greet
her true name is penny.
if you are a fan, you know what i'm talking about.
she was on her trip tour in philadelphia.
i was honored to be in her magical presence :)
i took this photo in the bathroom during the show..
i also wrote a note on the back.
handed the piece to a tour manager of some sort
[in-between makeshift protective cardboard]
made sure he was going to deliver the special drawing to her.
i met her, very briefly, and it was wonderful.
then i went across the street to get some ramen in chinatown.
all i could do at that point was eat delicious hot ramen & hope jhene received my piece.
then.. this happened :)
